The Mont Blanc Express resumes partial service from 29 June 2013

The Mont-Blanc Express resumes a partial service on Saturday 29 June 2013, through the Chamonix Valley to Argentiere.

Network Rail France (Réseau Ferré de France), completes a major 14 month refit of the line between Le Fayet (St. Gervais) and Argentiere.

Work from Argentiere to Vallorcine is on-going, with a replacement bus service operating to the train schedule.

Eric Fournier, Mayor of Chamonix and President of the Community of Municipalities of the Chamonix Mont-Blanc, is publicly cautious about the scheduled return of service.

The electric line will be energised on Monday 24th June and testing will take place over the following days. The scheduled re-opening is therefore dependent on all operational and safety tests being succesfull and the line receiving approval from the RFF.
