Bode Miller's incredible force of character undoubtedly helped him yesterday to go past the pain from his fall last Thursday on the "Break" jump. "When I got up, I was really in a lot of pain," he said after his 29th success. "My top left leg is really painful (a large bruise on my buttocks). I could hardly put my boots on and climbing stairs was a real challenge, but on skis, I felt fine." Skipping the inspection run, he focused his energy on the 1 min 40 second course . "I skied 70% on my right leg, with decreased physical capacity, but mentally I was extremely strong and I was able to surpass my disappointment of the day before."
