Having lived in the area most of his life, the Vallee Blanche has always been a dream that was impossible to acheive. Lucien Mermoud, father of helicopter pilot, Alain Mermoud, lost a leg and a lung in Algeria due to a mine. With advancements in handicap skiing, thanks to "Ski Loisir Evasion" and "Tessier," Mermoud's dream came true. With his family skiing around him and guide, Dominique Desbenois directing him, Mermoud skied the Vallee Blanche this weekend. Mermoud was elated by the descent and could not stop saying "It's just so beautiful." With his dream realized, Mr. Mermoud will return to his current home in Servoz with some great new adventure stories to share with his neighbors. More info on Ski Assis!
