On Tuesday, April 14, a man died in a climbing accident and another one suffered serious injuries while climbing the north side of the Triangle du Tacul in the Mont-Blanc massif.
The tragedy occurred yesterday afternoon, at around 1pm, when two Spanish climbers intended to reach the summit of the Triangle du Tacul (4248 m), on the route Contamine - Mazeaud, considered a very technical route, involving snow slopes and mixed climb.
Eventually, one of the mountain climbers fell to his death, while his partner was seriously injured and transported by helicopter to the Annecy hospital. The victim is in a critical state with unknown prognosis at the moment.
Our thoughts are with the families and friends of both people.
