On the very first day of the Magnus League's new season, Chamonix Chamois team up against the Ducs d'Angers.
Sat 14 Sep 2013 from 8:30pm a match in the Magnus League Championship, Chamonix-v-Angers at Richard Bozon Ice Rink.
The Chamonix Chamois aim to regain their former glory and win the Championship. The first match is a serious challenge, as the Ducs d'Angers were runners-up in the 2012-2013 Championship and in the Cup. Pre-season friendlies and cup matches have gone well for the Chamois, but a real test faces team on Saturday. The Chamois hope fans will be out in force to support them for the 8pm face-off.
The Chamois were busy in the pre-season transfer market. They renewed the Canadian connection with three strikers, that last year were playing together in Division 1. With an impressive goal record, Benjamin Rubin, Kevin Gaboureau and Julien Tremblay will certainly be among the stars of the team. Julien Tremblay had a great start, in the Cup match against les Pingouins de Morzine, scoring four times. Also, on the front line, local boy Vincent Kara has returned. The defence is reinforced with the return of Brent Patry, back from England and the arrival of the talented Kyle Hardy. Add to this a new 2nd goalie, Victor Goy, also a local boy who plays with the French junior team and Les Chamois have a real chance of winning the championship for the 31st time.
The rest of the team remains unchanged.
The Chamois' opponents, the Ducs d'Angers, is a French ice hockey club, established in 1982. They finished the 2013 season second in the Magnus League and were defeated finalists in the Coupe de la Ligue.
Brace yourselves and get ready for a new season of excitement and pure hockey!
Stephane Gros, Chamonix Chamois coach:
Allez, les Chamois!
