The 2013 edition of the Marathon du Mont Blanc took place from Fri 28 to Sun 30 Jun 2013 in Chamonix Mont-Blanc.
More than 6000 athletes have marked their presence in six races (Marathon du Mont Blanc, Cross du Mont Blanc, Km Vertical, 10Km du Mont Blanc, Minicross and the 80Km du Mont Blanc).
A huge success in terms of organization and an event that is becoming more and more a reference in the Trail Running racing global calendar.
This year the Sports Club Chamonix decided to add a new race (80km Mont Blanc). A sure bet! A race with a beautiful course, very technical and demanding.
Skyrunning® World Championships 2014 in Chamonix Mont-Blanc
In 2014, Chamonix Valley will host the World Championships Skyrunning®: The following three distances, three events:
- 80km Mont Blanc. This is a semi-autonomous trail with a total distance of 80km and 6000m of elevation gain
- Marathon du Mont Blanc. Distance 42km with an elevation gain of 2511m, a vertical drop of 1490m
- KM Vertical Chamonix event organized as a race against the clock. Distance 3.8 km coupled with an elevation gain of 1000m
The following titles will be at stake (3 titles will be awarded):
- World Champion title, awarded in each of the three races
- the Champion of the world combined: cumulative results of minimum two trials
- the ranking of nations by teams of 4 (3 men and 1 woman)
