The opening of Gouter Refuge is being delayed! The Safety Commission officially declared that the spectacular construction, situated almost 1000m below the summit of Mont Blanc, is still not ready to open.
The Gouter Refuge has met all the technical and safety standards required to be operational. However, there is a labour dispute concerning the supply of safety personnel.
The Fédération Française des Clubs Alpins et de Montagne (FFCAM) is confident that the dispute will be resolved before the refuge is scheduled to open on 1 June 2015.
