Renovation Project for Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Casino

In February 2016, the SFC Group "Groupe Société Française de casinos" acquired the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Casino from the Lucien Barrière Group and implemented a renovation project for the 19th century building.

Currently, SFC Group operates nine casinos in France, including the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Casino in the Haute-Savoie.

Always on the look-out for what’s new, the SFC Group works with various slot machine manufacturers to remain at the cutting edge of technology. Already, 1 million euros has been invested in latest generation slot machines in the Chamonix Casino.

Twenty-five new wide-screen, high-definition machines, provide astonishingly realistic images with cross over into the Gamer technology. The new slot machines offer an array of new sensations to customers!

The first upgrade to the tables is an electronic roulette wheel, supplied by TCS John Huxley and manufactured at their plant in Stoke-on-Trent, England.

The project to renovate the building has a budget of €2 million. A total refurbishment will give the Casino a new look and feel. Also, a completely new air conditioning system will be installed.

In March of 2017, the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Casino will return to its origins. The building was the Royal Hotel and had hosted Napoleon III.

The renovation works on this "Grand Empire" style building will spread over a period of 9 months.

Different phases of the renovation works:

1.  On the ground floor:

  • Optimization of gaming spaces (slot machines, electronic roulette and big games);
  • Creation of a smokehouse that will accommodate additional slot machines;
  • Transfer of the following spaces: kitchen, bar and restaurant overlooking the Saussure street;
  • Creation of a new gaming atmosphere through an interior restyling that has a period look and feel but incorporates contemporary technology feature.

2.  First floor:

  • Creation of a private club, in the living room of the Emperor Napoleon III  with impressive features including, statues and period furnishings and allowing access to the balcony where the announcement of Treaty annexing Savoy to France was publicly delivered.
  •  Creation of an auditorium with a capacity of 300 persons with an expansive view of the mountains, for all types of events: dinners, shows, weddings, conferences, seminars and other themed evenings that will complete the entertainment at the Casino.
