Avalanche Blocks Route to Col des Montets

Around 14h in the afternoon on the 10th of February and avalanche around 70m long cut across the road on the Col des Montets. The roade was covered with between 4 and 5 metres of snow. Witnesses thought they saw a car taken by the avalanches but after searching by the PGHM, this was proven to be false. The Col des Montets is the route that connects the Chamonix Valley with Switzerland and is often closed in the winter due to avalanche danger. The route is currently closed and will remain so until further notice.
