Huge cars queues to get in and out of Chamonix
Yesterday morning there was 3km of car queue, till the viaduc des Egratz, to come into the Chamonix Valley. This was caused by huge amount of tourists that wanted to visit Chamonix. Another big queue occurred at 18h in the Tunnel des Chavants. A truck started releasing some smoke and the tunnel was shut down for half an hour. But this is not all... When the Gendarmes were closing down the tunnel, a person on a bike hit one of the safety barriers and was seriously injured. This caused another big queue.
Twelve bikes found by the Municipal Police
The Municipal police recently found 12 abandoned bikes in perfect condition. They must have been stolen for sure. All persons that have lost a bike can contact the Police Municipal Office. You must take your ID card and the receipt of the bike. PM: 04 50 53 75 02
After a fall on Monday, a PGHM member dies
The accident occurred on Monday, in the Col du Peigne. The PGHM member was doing a formation when he had a 10m fall caused by a rock fall and hit the ground with his head first. The gendarme, Benjamin Felgerolle, was based in Gap.
