It all happened yesterday around 11am close to the summit of the Pointe Whymper (4180m) in the Grandes Jorasses. An alpinist, that was part of a party of 3, was climbing the south face of the Grandes Jorasses, but they weren't using a rope. He had a fall of several hundreds of meters into the south face. The rope was in the bag of the victim and when the Italian rescue recovered his body, they brought down the other two climbers, that were still in shock. Six rescues on the french side of the Mont-Blanc Also in the Grandes Jorasses, a client of a mountain guide was rescued because he was tired. It happened close to the pointe Marharita at 7.20h. Also tired, two other climbers were rescued on the Mur de la Cote, 400m below the summit of Mont Blanc. Another climber felt into a crevasse on the Vallée Blanche traverse. He was lightly injured, but taken in any case to the Sallanches Hospital.
