2010 Tour de France back in Haute Savoie

The 2101 Tour de France will start on July 3rd in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Then it will head south to the Alps through the Jura, on July 10th. The 'peloton' will take the road to Morzine-Avoriaz, for the first rest day. Then, on July 13th the race shall pass through the Maurienne, Chambery, for a finish at altitude at La Toussuire. La Toussuire was a "Station Arrival" on July 19th, 2006, with a final climb of 18 kilometers with 6% incline. It had been ranked a Category One climb. The 2010 Tour visit to the Savoie will co-incide with the 150th anniversary of the annexation of Savoy to France. On July 14th, 2010 the riders will depart from Chambéry, historic capital of the Dukes of Savoy, for Gap via the cols du Galibier and Izoard. Le Dauphiné
