The Tour de France, once again will be very close to Chamonix

The next Tour de France cyclist, who will depart from Rotterdam July 3, 2010, will pass by Paris-Roubaix and will climb to the top of the Tourmalet three days before the arrival in Paris, said Wednesday its director Christian Prudhomme. The organizers have limited this year the time trials to only 59 kilometers, divided into a prologue of 8 kilometers and a time trial of 51 kilometers in the vineyards of Pauillac, on the eve of the conclusion on the Champs-Elysees. No team time-trial is expected. The Tour will return to the top of Morzine-Avoriaz, before his first day off in the resort of Haute-Savoie. The last Pyrenean stage, following the second rest day in Pau, provides for a second climbing the Tourmalet, the other side, with a unique finish on top. This 97th edition visits the Jura and the Massif Central. In contrast, the French great West is abandoned for the second time in two years.
