Chamonix: Mont Blanc Tunnel, prices will rise 5.5%

According with the decision of French and Italian governments, the rates of the Frejus tunnel and Mont Blanc Tunnel will be revised on 1 January 2010 for all vehicles up to 5.5%. This rise will finance new investments in both Tunnels. At Mont Blanc, more than 17 million euros will be invested in 2010, with the redesign of the computerized steering all tunnel equipment, testing of sprinkler systems to fight against the fire and the construction of a second way up to make more fluid the traffic on the French side. And then, this increase also reflects the fact that the Route Blanche, between Fayet and Chamonix, will be in charge of the ATMB (starts on the 1st Jan 2010).
