From this morning, members of the French Alpine Club (CAF) from Chamonix, aided by volunteers of the company Lafuma and other associations such as "En passant par la montagne", "Mountain Riders", WWF and "Sport dans la ville" are cleaning the Mer de Glace. In total, sixty people will be on the glacier 'Mer de Glace' for the annual cleaning of the glacier best-known in the planet. A hard work ahead for all the volunteers, last year they recovered more than two tonnes of garbage, as cans left by climbers, old cables and much more... For this operation, the volunteers will be guided by Mountain Guides from Chamonix, but also by high-level climbers like Christophe Dumarest or Patrick Gabarrou. And for food lovers, the picnic will be provided by the bio-shop Satoriz. Le Dauphine
