Early Thursday morning, a helicopter crashed in Barberine, near the Swiss border. Four people died in the crash. The tail rotor of the helicopter apparently caught the electricity cable leading to the EDF Emosson dam. The victims include the pilot of the helicopter and mountaineering guide Jacques Fouque, together with the son of the director of the helicopter company CMBH (Chamonix Mont Blanc Helicopters). The other two passengers were Jean-Marc Mermillod, head of security at the Emosson dam, and Desmus Regis, one of the directors of the Vallorcine power station.
