This Sunday, January 15th, 2012, it will take place the French Ski Mountaineering (Sprint) Championships. Competition starts at 5pm in "Les Planards" (Chamonix town) The top French skiers will all be here in Chamonix, aiming for first place. The competition promises to be intense, as the winners in this event will then qualify for the Pelvoux European Championships, in February. The "Sprint" is a very short race, but at the same time a very spectacular... up 80 meters, down, remove your skis, put back your skis , and all this in less than 3 minutes. It should be a spectacular event, and one well worth seeing.
