An amazing cycling journey from the Far East (From Beijing until Les Houches - Chamonix)

Almost two years, exactly 22 months ago Karine Meerpoel started this incredible adventure. She crossed the Far East on a bicycle. It wasn't the first attempt of the Houcharde. Her desire to travel started in an early age. In 2007 it was Tibet, and in 2008 Central Asia. But in 2010, in Beijing, she planned to return to her village, always with the same bike, called "Dropka", that in Tibetan means "nomad". And she did it, since saturday, Karine is in Les Houches - Chamonix, reunited with her family, friends and relatives. Karine announced that she traveled 22 000 km from Beijing to Les Houches - Chamonix, "but I'm not in a logic of sport achievement, my journey was punctuated by reunions, "holidays" and roads shared with other cyclists". Karine remains modest facing her adventure. "Thank to my star, to life, I was born in the right place in the right family. Coming back fills me with joy but it is also painful to think that I just gave my last pedaling. Strangely, from Martigny, it seemed that Dropka had enough. Hard to imagine that my life will continue without the wheels, and yet I know is just the start of another journey." Karine can't say much of the trip, she's still overwhelmed, but extends an invitation to ride "through the good and bad smells, to listen the people you cross and the rhythm of the bike, to see better, to share better".
