Wednesday 20th June 2018, Kilian Jornet (30) has confirmed via social networks Facebook and Instagram, that he will participate at the Marathon du Mont-Blanc 2018.
Three months after fracturing his fibula in the Pierra Menta, the Spanish runner will run the 42km race on 1st July 2018, opting to avoid 90km this year.

In a statement on Facebook, Jornet said:
"Last weeks I have start to feel ok training in running so I think it is time to start racing again, I will be in Marathon du Mont-Blanc and I’m so excited to be in the Golden Trail Series fighting with so many great athletes.
I’m sad I will not be able to be in Hardock 100 this year, I think it is still to early to put this amount of millage and stress for my leg, so I think I have make someone happy in the waiting list! Enjoy-it!
After Mont Blanc and seeing how the leg reacts I would like to compete in the Golden Trail Series, with Sierre-Zinal and Salomon Ring of Steall Skyrace, and also in some of the Migu Run Skyrunning Series as Comapedrossa, KIMA and Limone. Finally if the recovery goes well and I can put millage on my legs I would like to do an ultra as UTMB at the end of the season. For the moment I will go to Chamonix for the Mont Blanc Marathon and then listening to the body steep by steep to the next races".
We remind you that Kilian Jornet is the winner of the 2017 Mont Blanc Marathon.
At the end of August, the athlete plans to return to Chamonix to take part in the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, which he won three times in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
