07 July 2015. Hélène Ménoni, 52, missing from July 1st after a paragliding ride in the Chamonix valley area, was finally found. Her body was discovered on Friday 3rd July on Glacier du Miage.
Hélène Ménoni, high school sports teacher in Mont-Blanc, took off from Plapraz at 11:30am with an experienced pilot group to paraglide in Mont-Blanc. She had an orange-green Alpina paraglider, Kamasutra II Kocon pod.
The last signal was received on Wednesday around 5pm, through a radio station. Since then she disappeared without trace. Her paragliding friends immediately alerted the rescue team.
Despite all her friends' and husband's efforts, the paraglider's body was found only on Friday at 1pm, by PGHM on Glacier du Miage. The accident is still under investigation.
