Sunday 19 Jan saw 6 skiers hospitalised from Pays du Mont Blanc

Chamonix PGHM  attend a patient on a ski slope.

This Sunday 19 January 2025, on the ski resorts of the Pays du Mont Blanc, six skiers took heavy falls that required hospitalisation to either Chamonix or Sallanches.

This was a busy day for the Chamonix PGHM & Securite Civile helicopters operating out of Les Bois.

Onboard both machines or the whole day, there was always an Emergency specialist doctor from one the the Pays du Mont Blanc hospitals. 

Megève ,  Saint Gervais Combloux

At about 11 a.m. on Mont d'Arbois, in the resort of Saint-Gervais, a 60-year-old woman injured her arm and was flown to Sallanches hospital.

Near Combloux, a child around ten years old suffered trauma to his lower limbs. He was flown to Sallanches Hospital.

Passy Plaine-Joux

Less than an hour later at 12 p.m., rescuers went to the Passy Plaine-Joux station for a man who had suffered a head injury following a fall while skiing. Here again, the patient was flown to Sallanches hospital.

Les Contamines-Montjoie

A child, near Les Contamines-Montjoie, suffered significant wounds to his lower limbs. 

The patient was flown to Sallanches hospital.

In the Chamonix Valley

At La Flégère, at 2 p.m., a 30-year-old man injured his leg. Soon after a  40-year-old man dislocated his shoulder,. Both patients were flown to the Chamonix hospital.

A busy day for the PGHM & Securite Civile, but no serious injuries and no life-threatening prognoses.
