After discovering a technical problem with the bull wheel of the Planpraz gondola last Sunday, the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc announced that the Planpraz gondola will reopen today, the 25th of January.
However, it appears that a little more patience is required - the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc has now set the date for reopening the gondola for Sunday, the 27th of January.
After dismantling the bull wheel of the Planpraz gondola (Brévent ski area) to replace the broken ball bearings, the team in charge of repairing the lift has found other components that need to be changed.
Consequently, the reopening date of the Planpraz gondola has been postponed to Sunday, the 27th of January, with the possibility of the gondola being reinstated one day earlier, on the 26th of January.
The Compagnie du Mont-Blanc stated: "Since the start of the repair programme, POMAGALSKI (the contractor) has despatched two complete teams to the site to ensure round the clockwork in order to repair as fast as possible this constructional defect discovered by our teams."
