On Tuesday, the 2nd of July 2019, the mountain began to fall to the ground.
Two landslides happened in just a day. A predictable phenomenon, due to the record heat.
The first landslide happened at the Triangle du Tacul at 7.30 am.
The second one happened at 2.45 pm on the north face of the Aiguille du Caïman. The witnesses just heard a thunderstorm and saw a cloud of dust.
Fortunately, there were no casualties caused by these two landslides.
