French Ski Resorts Remain Closed

On 7 January 2021, the government spokesperson, Gabriel Attal, announced that ski lifts in France would not open on 7 January, as was initially planned.

Gabriel Attal declared that 7 January was not presented as a possible date of resumption of service, but a date when the situation would be reviewed.

Elected officials and mountain professionals denounce this announcement, especially since no new date has been put forward.

It will probably have to wait until next week to be fixed.

Some professionals are starting to prepare for a white season. All denounce an incomprehensible decision, especially as the circulation of the virus has slowed down enormously in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpe, which accounts for 80% of French resorts.

Once again, the mountain world calls for a different opening depending on the health situation of the departments.
