The sun is out, but yesterday we had some huge winds around the Chamonix valley. The wind was so strong that most of the lifts were closed, and it completely trashed all of the great powder that fell during Wednesday. Even places that are usually sheltered from the wind got windblown, as it was going around all the corners and over all the ridges.
So there was no fresh powder to ride at Flegere and Brevent today, but it was nice to get up on the mountain. The snow was variable - some soft spring snow where the sun was warming it up, some icy patches on the pistes, where there was high traffic, and some rough windblown areas.
