Acquired 3 years previously by Quiksilver for 470 million Euros, after accumulating losses of over 40 million a year, the Rossignol group (Rossignol, Dynastar, Look, and Lange) was finally handed over to the Chartreuse and Mont Blanc holding company in October 2008 for the sum of 40 million Euros. The spiraling problems of the Rossignol group as well as poor management resulting in overproduction and unsold Dynastar skis has caused the popular Chamonix brand to announce partial layoffs for workers in the Sallanches factory in February and March. And it doesn't look like it will stop there. The Sallanches factory also produces Rossignol skis, but the layoffs are all Dynastar.
