The young Matthieu Tavernier is desperate because since last Friday he hasn't received any new from his mother, Brigitte, teacher at the Mont Blanc Passy school, and her friend Eric Frey. Both disappeared when they were climbing the Domes de Miage. On Sunday, Matthieu and his brother were supposed to join their mother next to the Refuge de Conscrits. They saw their tent, but no sign of the couple. On his way back, Matthieu decided to call the PGHM, Sunday evening. On Monday the rescue was hard because of the bad weather, wind and lots of clouds. But the helicopter of the PGHM managed to drop some PGHM rescuers at the Col des Domes to look for them in the ground. On Saturday, around 14:00, the couple was seen in the direction of the summit of the Domes de Miage (3670m). The rescuers of the PGHM looked everywhere... nothing. Now there are plenty of question marks. Did they decided to go for another summit? A crevasse? The mobile phones on the area don't work really well... so not many other options. Yesterday evening, the rescue was suspended and they should start this morning at 6am. The PGHM is pessimist about finding them live.
