According with the data from the 'Observatoire Comete', the accommodation reservations in Chamonix during the month of July are good and during August are stable, if we compare with the date from 2008. But the confidence isn't very high, specially if we keep in mind that the accommodation income over last winter as 8% lower than last year. The businesses and the professionals of the accommodation area are worried with their future and they have been waiting from the new Mayor a new strategy to fight back. Eric Fournier, mayor of Chamonix and president of the Tourism Office, and the members of the Administration Comittee will present today, Thursday, a new document to the press. Various themes will be included, the economic situation, the strategy for next winter 2009/10, etc. A presentation will be held tomorrow, Friday, at the Majestic, at 15h and 20h.
