Sunday morning in Chamonix, the passengers of the Montenvers, that provides access to the Mer de Glace (1913m), had unfortunately to turn back. A landslide occurred during the night blocking teh railroad. Around 9:30am it was announced to all customers that the train would return to normal by noon. 2nd rockfall on Sunday On Sunday morning, while the workers were cleaning the railway line of the Montenvers, another landslide occurred at 15:30. So it was impossible to descend the hundreds of people stuck at the train station at the Mer de Glace. Tourists and workers had to be evacuated by helicopter. Le Dauphiné
