Eric Fournier, the mayor of Chamonix, is getting impatient. The mayor is waiting for work on a new fire station to start, but planning studies have still not finished, and the new station risks being delayed. 12 years after the fire in the Mont Blanc tunnel, Chamonix still does not have a new fire station. The current one is outdated and the Fire and Rescue Department is playing against time to organise a new one. Mr Fournier has therefore refused to sign an agreement to provide municipal staff and volunteer firefighters, in an effort to speed up the decision. Radio Mont Blanc.
