Cold snap in Chamonix over the next few days

A cold wave coming in from the East, which has now moved over all of France, is expected to worsen in the coming days. After, there is a strong possibility that a warmer wind from the west will raise the temperatures next week, according to Météo-France. A total of 22 departments have received an orange "cold" alert until Friday. This is a wave of intense cold, but such warnings occur only every 3 to 5 years, but not as bad as the record lows of 1956 or 1985. The cold snap is due to start this Thursday and is expected to settle for at least 8 days: Thursday morning, Météo France has forecast a significant drop in temperature. It will be especially cold this Saturday morning, 04/02/2012. Some other temperatures in Haute-Savoie: -18°C in Châtel, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and Megève, -13°C in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, and -11°C in Annecy.
