The ascent of Mont Blanc by the "Voie Royal" is open again, along with bivouacing at the Tête Rousse. Back on August 21st 2012, the mayor of St Gervais banned bivouacing on the Tête Rousse glacier, and recommended postponing all excursions to the Mont Blanc. The cooler weather and some snowfall has now reduced the risk of falling rocks in the Colouir de Goûter.
