With the mixed weather and light snowfalls during the last couple of days, we have been treated with another serving of Cham-pagne from the Aiguille du Midi - some seriously cold light powder blowing up into the face! Right now we have blue skies and cool temperatures in the Chamonix valley, with some great pistes to ride, and some softer snow in the direct sunlight later in the day.
This morning at Les Houches, the sun was shining, the snow was crisp and fast, and there were not many people around. It was cold, but not too cold, and the sunshine warmed my face while I was on the top pistes.
There is a snowpark up there on the plateau, and plenty of groomed space to carve up. The sky is big up there, and the vistas are wide and beautiful. There is also good snow all the way down to Les Houches village at 1000m, and it stays colder on that shady side.
