1997-2017: The traditional restaurant "La Maison Carrier" celebrates it 20th anniversary!

La Maison Carrier completes the gastronomic offer of Hameau Albert 1 er *****  in Chamonix Mont-Blanc since 1997. Very much a favourite address with amateurs of traditional country cuisine, this restaurant located in a magnificent farmhouse hotel, was rebuilt from the reclaimed wood of various old farms of the Pays du Mont-Blanc.

The emblematic recipes of the Grandfather Carrier

The chef Stéphane Gassot, "Maître-Restaurateur" rewarded with a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin guide, is working alongside Pierre Carrier, owner of Hameau Albert Premier, since the opening of the restaurant and he still passionately stirs family recipes.

The chef perpetuates the tradition by cooking some emblematic recipes, some of which have been handed down from grandfather Carrier: house pudding, pike dumplings, rissoles with Passy prunes.

According to Le Dauphine, for Pierre Carrier, this 20th anniversary is the occasion to remember the beginnings, not always easy and full of uncertainties: "My daughter was 7 years old. I remember those moments when we had to fight, first with David Marcaud, our first Maître d'hôtel, and then with Serge Ratton, who is still with us today. We had a little fear, then success came, and from about ten years, there is stability. Today is a culmination, but certainly not the end. We still have challenges to overcome, with Stéphane. This anniversary represents almost 30 years of complicity".

For chef Stéphane Gassot, "it's a great step, the celebration of quality cuisine and also friendship. We opted for only one service, and the honor of traditional and local cuisine, retaining the old recipes of the grandfather. And as Pierre says, to take on a challenge like this, you obviously need a lot of complicity!"

To celebrate this anniversary, la Maison Carrier offers from 19 September to 5 November 2017 a special menu for €39. The chef Stéphane Gassot will prepare on this occasion some of the great classics of the house, to (re)discover in all conviviality.
