Thursday 2nd November 2017, the Community of Communes of the Chamonix valley and GRDF the main natural gas company of France signed a partnership agreement.
Eric Fournier, President of the Community of Communes of the Chamonix valley and Didier Saussier, Regional Director of GRDF signed in Chamonix a partnership setting up a system of exceptional joint assistance up to €2,400 to encourage conversion to gas in the habitat.
According to the town hall of Chamonix, the objective of this partnership agreement is to reduce particulate emissions and pollutants with the use of natural gas.
The scheme concerns the replacement of open or closed wood fireplaces dating from before 2008 by gas fireplaces (gas fireplace insert or gas stoves) and the replacement of oil-fired boilers with gas boilers.
Chalet showroom GRDF
The GRDF has set up a showroom chalet in front of the Chamonix town hall, located at Place du Triangle de l'Amitié, to present these aids to the residents and answer their questions.
