This Tuesday, the 9th of April 2019, an American got injured while ski touring at the Col Des Cristaux.
The American lost his balance while skiing downhill at the Col des Cristaux, upstream of the Argentière basin, in the Mont-Blanc massif.
Fortunately, the American was only mildly injured.
The American lost his balance while he was ski touring due to a small snowfall and slid along a steep face down.
He was ski touring with two friends who were unable to contact the PGHM because of a lack of telephone network.
Fortunately, there was a witness who attended the scene and who went to the refuge of Argentière to notify the PGHM of Chamonix, who quickly arrived and transported the victim to the Sallanches hospital by helicopter.
Luckily, the American victim suffered only minor injuries.
