After the animated Marathon du Mont-Blanc and the enlightening Yoga Festival, a new challenge will arrive in Chamonix.
The Climbing World Cup will take place in Chamonix from the 11th to the 13th of July 2019.
The Climbing World Cup in Chamonix
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is a must among the principal events in the world of climbing.
The Chamonix Sports Club has been organizing international climbing competitions for more than 18 years, starting with a European Championship in 2002, followed by more than 11 stages of Climbing World Cup.
In 2019 Chamonix will again be the host of a World Cup Climbing event.
The schedule
Thursday, the 11th of July:
- From 5 pm to 7 pm: Speed test (Place du Mont-Blanc), women & men qualification.
- From 7.15 pm: Opening ceremony, ending with a Michael Jones concert (free).
Friday, the 12th of July:
- From 9.30 am to 5 pm: Difficulty test (Place du Mont-Blanc), women & men qualification.
- 6 pm: Projection of mountain film.
- From 8.30 pm: Speed test (Place du Mont-Blanc), women & men finals.
- From 9.30 pm: Awards ceremony.
Saturday, the 13th of July:
- From 10 am to 12.30 pm: Difficulty test (Place du Mont-Blanc), women & men semi-finals.
- From 5.30 pm to 8 pm: Projection of mountain films.
- From 8.30 pm: Women's Finals.
- From 9.30 pm: Men's Finals.
- 10.35 pm: Awards ceremony.
- 10.45 pm: Fireworks.
