Wednesday, the 26th of June 2019, a young man was speed-riding in the Mont-Blanc massif when he fell several hundred meters at the Aiguille du Midi.
Unfortunately, the fall was fatal for the young speed-rider.
The young man was speed-riding on the north face of the Aiguille du Midi when the tragedy happened.
Allegedly, the speed-rider hit a rock block and then fell several hundred meters.
The accident was reported to the PGHM of Chamonix by witnesses.
When the PGHM of Chamonix arrived at the Aiguille du Midi, there was nothing to do but note the death of the young man and evacuate the body.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the identity of the young speed-rider was unknown, as the PGHM were unable to find his papers.
