Lots of fresh snow this week in Chamonix.
Since Tuesday it has been snowing on and off in the Chamonix valley and mountains, with some sunny spells in between weather systems.
Thursday was a big powder day, with 30cm of new snow above 2000m, and more heavy snowfall in the afternoon/evening. Then there was another 20-30cm of fresh snow with a clear sky for Friday. On Saturday afternoon and evening there was heavy rain in Chamonix town, with snow above 1200m, and 30 more centimetres in the mountains, ready for more sunny powder this morning. Now this evening the next showers have come in, and it is set to continue unsettled well into the next week, with a dropping snow-line back to the valley bottom!
