Chamonix Valley: Skier dies in off-piste avalanche

On 1 March 2020, at the end of the morning, an avalanche took place in the Mont-Blanc massif, on the Tour ski area, Vallorcine side.

As a result, the PGHM of Chamonix went on reconnaissance. 

They have, unfortunately, discovered a 54-year-old man in cardiorespiratory arrest and in a desperate state.

Using the Choucas 74 helicopter and supported by the Chamonix Dragon, the PGHM of Chamonix recovered the victim.

Unfortunately, the 54-year-old man was in cardiorespiratory arrest, and the PGHM took him directly to the Chamonix funeral chamber.

The avalanche risk was 3 out of 5 this Sunday in the Mont-Blanc massif.
