The 11th edition of the Cosmojazz of Chamonix will take place from 16 to 22 August 2020.
The well-known jazz festival on the heights of Chamonix was initially scheduled at the end of July, but it had to be postponed, due to the coronavirus COVID-19 health crisis.

"We hope to receive the artists and the public in the best possible conditions, and to offer a unique experience of concerts in the high mountains and in Chamonix," explains Charles Vetter, the programmer of the event created by André Manoukian.
The full program should be published by the end of June, but the first names have already been announced: Birds on a wire, Emile Parisien & Vincent Peirani, Laurent Bardainne & Tigre d'Eau Douce, Foehn Trio, Léon Phal.
The Cosmojazz Festival
The first edition of the Cosmojazz festival took place in the summer of 2010, with the idea of creating an extraordinary human adventure, which includes incredible landscapes, dizzying travellings and cosmic sounds, all in a friendly atmosphere.
Each day of the festival spreads through three moments:
Concerts at Altitude
The Concerts in Altitude take place during the day at various beautiful and majestic sites that are will naturally blend in with the concerts.
The organizers try to incorporate each artist's music into the majestic site where they will be playing.
These concerts are free of charge, but the spectators can support the festival by buying souvenirs: bracelets, glasses, T-shirts, etc.
In general, the access to the sites is done via ski lifts, which are chargeable.
For each concert at altitude, a "bad weather" solution is considered. These alternatives will be communicated via the festival website and Facebook.
Chamonix Center Concerts
Daily from 5 pm, there will be concerts in the Chamonix centre.
Couttet Park becomes the focal point of the festival, hosting the large indoor stage for concerts from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. In this green place in the heart of Chamonix.
Cosmo Jam'
Every evening, starting at 10 p.m., the Maison des Artistes welcomes the artists of the Cosmo Jam'.
These late evening concerts aim at enhancing the city's cultural and architectural heritage, as well as emphasizing the mountain spirit that characterizes this city.
Several bars from Chamonix are welcoming musicians of all styles.
