Chamonix: CosmoJazz Festival 2020 Cancelled

Although previously postponed until mid-August, the organizers of the Cosmojazz Festival have announced on 29 July 2020 that the 11th edition of the popular music festival is cancelled.

Initially scheduled at the end of July, the Cosmojazz festival has already been postponed, because of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

Indeed, the organizers have fought hard to organize the festival this year and produce a satisfying 2020 edition, under the best conditions.

However, since France is experiencing a significant rise in confirmed new cases of people suffering from COVID-19, the festival can no longer be held in safe conditions.

"Our 90 volunteers and our audience come from all over France, the risks of contamination being always present, it is our responsibility not to make our audience, our artists, our volunteers and our production team take any risks. It is also imperative not to favour the development of a second wave of coronavirus and the consequences that would engender."

The CosmoJazz Festival is indeed a popular event that sometimes attracts more than 5000 people coming from all over France, and not only, to certain concerts.

"The decision was difficult to make but we had to do it quickly. Also, it is with a heavy heart that we must cancel this 2020 edition to see you again in 2021, in better conditions", declared the Cosmojazz Festival organization.
