The Bossons glacier chairlift (1102m long), built in 1960, which transports visitors up to 1425 meters near the Bossons glacier offering an exceptional view of the seracs and the Aiguille du Midi, will be replaced next year 2023.
Claude Jacot, the Vice-President of the Tourism, Economy and Mountain Commission said "We want to continue to make this place the most accessible glacier visit in the Alps".
New Bossons chairlift to replace the TSF2
Far from the rock-covered ice of the Mer de Glace, the Bossons glacier, even after a sharp retreat, continues to impress all its visitors.
According to Le Dauphiné, to allow as many people as possible to take advantage of this "little jewel", Chamonix will change the chairlift for a new device, at a cost which is estimated at 2.5 million euros and which will offer an almost identical speed.
A good news for the refreshment bars of the glacier and the Pyramids, which makes it easier to reach the lift.
