Mont-Blanc Tramway: Info 16 July 2022 ascent of the Nid d'Aigle

According to a statement of 13 July 2022, issued by the Tramway du Mont-Blanc company: on 16 July the 35th climb of the Nid d'Aigle will take place, as part of the mountain running world cup.

The Mont Blanc Tramway will run well that day, but access to some trains will be limited or reserved.

For the ascent:

- Online booking will only be open for early morning trains

  • n°1 (7:00 a.m.)
  • n°3 (8:00 a.m.)
  • n°7 (9:45 a.m.)

- All other uphill trains will be accessible, but only with purchase and reservation on D-Day at the counter and for some with a limited gauge.

- Trains n°13 (1:15 p.m.) and n°15 (1:55 p.m.) will depart from Saint Gervais and not Le Fayet. A shuttle will provide access to St Gervais from Le Fayet.

For the descent:

- Train n°8 (11:10 a.m.) will only go down to the Col de Voza, and trains n°10 (12:25 p.m.) and n°12 (1:30 p.m.) will be reserved for the descent of runners.

We strongly advise you to take the first 3 morning trains and get off either before 10:40 a.m. (train 6), or from 3:25 p.m. on the last 4 afternoon trains:

  • n°16 (3:25 p.m.) and n°18 (4:35 p.m.);
  • n°20 (5:55 p.m.) and n°22 (6:15 p.m.) from the Nid d'Aigle.
