UTMB: two French runners win the MCC race

The UTMB week started with two Frenchmen on the first two podiums: Ludvik Fernandes and Candice Fertin imposed themselves on the MCC 40km mounation race.

 

The MCC, the first event of the UTMB competition started on Monday 22 August from Martigny-Combe (Switzerland) to Chamonix (40 km, 2300 meters of elevation gain).

MCC - Men's results:

  1. Ludvik Fernandes (France) - 3:54
  2. Baptiste Ellmenreich (France) - 4:08:49
  3. Mattia Colella (Italy) - 4:10:20

MCC - Women's Results

Among the ladies, it was a local who took the first podium. Candice Fertin from Chamoniarde won in 4:24:22, almost 40 minutes ahead of Ukrainian Oksana Riabova and Frenchwoman Alanis Duc.

Tuesday 23 August 2022 sets off ETC and YCC races

This Tuesday starts the ETC (20 km, 1300 m D+) and the YCC (15 km, 1200 m D+) while the PTL peloton (300 km, 25,000 m D+) is still in the race after setting off on Monday morning.

That of the TDS (145 km, 9100 m D+) left this Tuesday at midnight from Courmayeur (Italy) and should arrive around 6 p.m. in Chamonix.
