The Catalan ultra-trailer Kilian Jornet has won the fourth Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc of his career in 19:49:30, setting a record time.
The Spanish Kilian Jornet wins the UTMB 2022 race
A fourth victory, and the record of the event (19:49:30).
Kilian Jornet had already won this event in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
“With the post-covid syndromes, I felt some pain,” he explains, when analyzing his rare weak time in 20 hours of mountain getaway. Positive tests, but no symptoms in the week leading up to the race.
Physical consequences, he says. And moral, with this uncertainty around his participation.

On the women's side, the American Katie Schide won the UTMB 2022 race
The 31-year-old American said “I got off to a fast start, getting ahead of my opponents quickly”
“I had more than 15 minutes in advance arriving in Courmayeur. It wasn't really the plan, but the other years I had gone too slowly."

The Swedish Petter Engdahl won the CCC 2022 race
Petter Engdahl won the CCC (Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix), setting a new 100km event record (6100m D+) in 9 hours and 53 minutes.

Mickaël Cognee and David Salenne won the PTL 2022 race
The PTL (Petite Trotte à Léon) has its new masters. Mickaël Cognee and David Salenne crossed the finish line. Leaving on Monday 22 August at 8 a.m. with 100 other teams, the two firefighters from the Chamonix barracks are "relieved" to have reached the end.
They completed the 303 kilometers and climbed the 27,649 vertical meters of this short trek in 144 hours, 19 minutes and 38 seconds.
