On Saturday 10 September, the Chamonix High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) carried out two rescue operations.
Indeed, in the morning, the gendarmes took charge of a paraglider near the takeoff from Planpraz. He fell from a height of 20 meters at the take-off area. Polytraumatized, the 50-year-old man was taken to Sallanches hospital.
According to Le Dauphine, at the end of the afternoon, the rescuers from the Chamonix unit aboard the Civil Security Dragon 74 helicopter then went to the Porcherey mountain pasture in the municipal territory of Saint-Gervais, where an 85-year-old hiker suffered from pulmonary edema. At 6 p.m., the mountain rescue gendarms were still at his side.
