On Monday 27 March 2023, two skiers got lost on their way from Montenvers to the Mer de Glace. From where there is construction work on the new gondola, one of the skiers fell a vertical distance of 100 meters.
His friend gave the alert to the high mountain gendarmerie (PGHM) of Chamonix.
When rescuers arrived at the scene of the accident, the victim had a head injury and was evacuated with the Choucas helicopter to Sallanches hospital.
A second intervention on the Flégère ski area
A second intervention also mobilized the gendarmes of the PGHM of Chamonix.
On the Flégère ski area, a 19-year-old young man jumped a rocky bar and injured himself. He had a head injury and was airlifted to Sallanches hospital.
