Mountain film enthusiasts will mark Thursday 2 May 2024 in their calendar. That is when they will meet at the Cinéma Vox in Chamonix for the Montagne en Scène festival Summer Edition 2024.
Cinéma Vox in Chamonix
Chamonix is the host venue for one part of the festival. The festival is on tour through-out France to introduce the beauty of the mountains to people who live far from them.
Nevertheless, the Montagne en Scène festival will be in the capital of skiing and mountaineering for a unforgettable evening. Touring throughout France, this festival aims to bring the mountains to town, in order to share all the beauty of mountain sports. A selection of the best documentaries related to mountain activities is presented.
Four documentaries/films to watch
The first, Deep Freeze, takes place in Chamonix, in the Grandes Jorasses, in winter, with the Walker Spur climbed in 2023 by Symon Welfringer, Charles Dubouloz and Clovis Paulin.
The other three films will take the viewer to Greenland, then to the middle of the climbing blocks of Fontainebleau and to British Columbia for a subterranean dive in the largest cave in Canada.
The films are screened in the original language version with subtitles in French, and French films have English subtitles.
