Two of the victims were taken directly to the hospital in Chamonix; one with a twisted knee while skiing the Vallee Blanche and the other with a dislocated shoulder while skiing at the Brevent. A third was rescued at the Grands Montets due to extreme chest pains (angina pectoris) and taken to the hospital in Sallanches. At the end of the day, the PGHM flew down the valley to Les Houches to rescue a young skier who found himself stuck on the edge of a cliff and needing a lift down. Around 6:30 yesterday evening the smoke alarms went of at the Ecole Nationale de Ski and Alpinisme (ENSA). The building was evacuated and traffic was rerouted to the other side of Chamonix. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished with over 100 litres of water. According to the firemen on site, the fire was started in the sauna that was unoccupied at the time. Around 7:30, the 50 some youths on holiday as well as their instructors that had previously evacuated the building were allowed back into their rooms. No one was hurt in this fire and only the sauna area is currently closed off. Le Dauphiné
